The recently
opened Rockingham Speedway is only 3.5 miles away, but the
noise does not effect us, Rockingahm Castle is 1.5 miles away
and well worth a visit, Silverstone racecourse is also nearby.
Rutland Water is not far away, where there is fishing, bird watching and boating
etc.
Wicksteed
Park at Kettering (10 miles away) is a wonderful place
to take children, it is the sort of place they can enjoy very
cheaply, there are also many rides
and attractions for adults.
Eyebrook
Reservoir, nearby, is frequented by trout fishermen.
East Carlton Park is only about 1.5 miles away which is suitable for all ages.
For shopping, Leicester, Peterborough, Northampton and Kettering are all less
than 1 hour away.
For walkers, the Jurassic
Way runs through the next village, Middleton and part
of Cottingham.
For evening meals the Royal George, Spread Eagle and Hunting
Lodge provide cuisine
suitable for all tastes, they are all within 10 minutes walking distance.
Kirby
Hall is 4 miles away where historical re-enactments are often staged, Lyveden
New Bield and Althrop are also close by. |
